Final draft of poster

This is our final draft of our poster. We decided to experiment on the image, to make it stand out and be more dramatic, which was one of our targets we received from our teacher. To do this, we used the liquify tool and reshaped her face to make her face more defined and dynamic. We added volume to her hair also, to again fill the space around the sides of the poster. We decided to make her eyes bigger, so they are stand out to the audience dramatically and efficiently. Finally, we decided to add the facebook and iphone barcode logos to again give it more a modern and realistic feel.

Fourth draft of poster

This
is our fourth draft of our poster. After receiving feedback we decided
to change the picture in order to create a direct address with our
audience. We felt this was effective as it looked hypnotic, enticing the
audience to go to see Ellie Goulding on tour. We also added the lines
on top and under the 'Ellie Goulding' to follow our house style from our
album cover. As well as this, we darkened the colours on the gradient,
as we felt this made the image of her more vivid. We added the website
in order to make the poster look professional, filling up the empty
space as seen on our previous draft.

Research into fonts for music video / font vote
For our music video an important feature for us to consider is the presentation. We have decided to include text at the beginning to introduce the artist and the song title, in addition to a simple text stating 'THE END' when the music video has finished. It is essential to use an ideal font to suit the genre and general theme of the song and music video. In this post we shall be doing further research into choosing the correct font, whether it should be serif or sans serif and which one of OUR collection is the most popular.
One of our initial favourites in regards to inspiration is the font used in Telephone - Lady GaGa. We felt that it was contemporary and eye-catching, which is vital since we are trying to materialise our video to be as professional as possible. (the fonts can be found from 0:05 to 0:24)

Third draft of poster

This is our third draft of our poster which clearly depicts a dramatic change from our second draft. From hearing our critiques, we decided to seek inspiration from other artists posters. One which caught our eye was Miley Cyrus' Bangerz tour poster. We liked the idea of the gradient, as we felt it fitted our genre and made it stand out more than our previous black background. We also got feedback from our teacher for this draft, to which he said that there needed to be more space towards the top as the name seemed too cramped as well as the space at the bottom, which should be cut off. He said he liked the general house style, however he did critique our image and suggested that we should choose another that had direct address as he felt this one looked too religious and doesn't have a powerful connection with the audience.
